About me

I am a cell biologist interested in how mechanical forces are transmitted to and experienced by the cell nucleus. During my doctoral work I studied how strong forces generated by the cytoskeleton orchestrate chromosome segregation during mitosis. As a postdoctoral fellow I have been focusing on how mechanical forces contribute to reproductive success. Specifically, I study the cause and consequences of mechanical forces acting on the nuclei of cells going through meiosis and oogenesis, the process where the diploid genome gets precisely segregated to make haploid eggs.
