剑 (Jiān)
Origin: China, ancient scholar-warrior weapon. Form created by Chen Village masters.
Date: Practiced in Chen Village since the Qing dynasty (18th–19th centuries).
Description: A double-edged, straight weapon associated with refinement and precision. Chen-style Jian form emphasises grace, fluidity, and spiral control, embodying the “Taiji sword” ideal of softness overcoming hardness.
