My name is Chenhao Liu (刘宸昊). am an assistant professor at the School of Finance, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. ​I received my Ph.D. in Economics at the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University in 2025.

My research interests lie in development economics, public economics, and political economy. Currently, my research focuses on the topic of institution. Drawing on theoretical insights from public, development, and international economics, I employ novel datasets and empirical designs to understand the evolution of institution building, the impacts of institutional design, and the interaction between informal and formal institutions.
