Graduate Students
Multiple fully-funded Ph.D. positions and multiple master positions are available in the lab of smart manufacturing and smart materials at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the area of scientific machine learning and additive manufacturing. Our research concentrates on the development of physics-based machine learning and its application for computational design of functional materials, and multiscale and multiphysics modeling for AM.
Required Qualifications:
A B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field.
Broad Knowledge in machine learning, computational mechanics, topology optimization, and metal AM.
Skills in Pytorch, Tensorflow, C/C++, and MATLAB. Experience in MPI/OpenMP and CUDA is a plus.
These positions will be filled in Spring/Fall 2023.
