ABOUT US
The Department of Chemistry was started in the year 1968 with undergraduate course in Tamil medium. The English medium was started in the year 1971. The PG program was started in the year 1998. With the increase in demand for the course, the number of students was increased to 36 and shift II was started in the year 2008. It is one of the oldest departments in the college. The department is blessed with qualified staff members with many of them being Doctorates. The lab facilities are adequate to be provided to all the students. Our staff members have participated in many conferences, seminars and have published papers in National and International Journals. The pass percentage of students is the final year is maintained between 90 to 98%. We have also got our students very well paced in many organisations.Many of our senior staff have been promoted as Principals to various colleges. Our alumni have been placed in many prestigious institutions like, CSIR labs, Anna University, NIT, Trichy to name a few.
