Hello and welcome to Intro to General Chemistry at Miramar College! I am your instructor, Prof Elizabeth Hubert. I am so excited to be back on campus and looking forward to sharing this chemistry experience with you!
I am originally from Southeast Michigan ✋ (#IYKYK). I received my Bachelor's Degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN in 2004, where I was a double major in chemistry and environmental studies. I moved to San Diego in 2005 for graduate school at UCSD, and I received my Master's in chemistry in 2007.
TBH, I didn't really know what I wanted to be when I grew up! In 2012, I accepted a last minute teaching assignment at Miramar and the rest is history! I have been teaching chemistry as an adjunct (part-time) instructor at Miramar, and several other schools, since 2013. I am beyond excited to start teaching full time at Miramar this semester! I am really looking forward to working with you and the other chemistry faculty to help support and grow our campus community!
In my free time, I enjoy running, traveling, watching sports with my family, and collecting/wearing ridiculous sunglasses! 😎
