Google - probably what you first think of when you need to search for something online. However, results are not filtered as safe for kids, so you get results from all over the internet.
Kiddle - a safe search engine for kids. Top results are for sites written for kids. Next sites are not written specifically for kids but are written in a format kids can often understand. Last results are written for adults but are safe for kids.
Kidzsearch.com a safe search engine for kids that also has free learning games, kids news and videos, and homework help.
sweetsearch.com a search engine that uses a vetted "whitelist" of sites to find safe search results. Ignore the first few results labelled as ads. This search engine is a better fit for middle school students.
