The City of Chelsea offers a variety of benefits to their employees and retirees. As a new employee, your benefits are effective the first day of employment provided you complete enrollment within thirty (30) days of your hire date. After this window ends, you may only make changes to your benefits elections during Open Enrollment (April of each year) or within 30 days of experiencing a qualified event. A qualifying event includes but is not limited to:
Change in marital status
Birth, adoption or legal guardianship
Change in employment status that affects employee's benefits
