This interview was with a current Chelmsford High student where I asked about events hosted at the high school, cultural/social contributions the high school has made, and how the high school maintains its community. The student talked about many events including sporting events, prom, spirit week, and pep rally which are some of many popular events that are hosted at the high school that bring students of all grades together. The student also mentioned the cultural/social contributions the high school made in having many different language classes at the school, clubs for different cultures and school trips that enable students to experience different cultures. Lastly, the student talked about how the high school maintains their community through having good students and staff including resources for students to reach out to when they are in need of help.
This interview was with a Chelmsford High School alumni who is now in her first year of college. I asked her what the most significant things were that she misses about Chelmsford High School while being at college now. She mentioned how close Chelmsford High community is compared to college and how she misses how close the students at the school were to each other and how going to college, you aren’t close with everyone in your grade like you are in high school. She also mentioned how strong the Chelmsford High School community is because everyone grew up from K-12th grade together. Now being at college, she mentioned that she doesn’t have that same bond with people as she did for the first 12 grades of her life. She also mentioned how excited she will be to return to the high school for the 5-year reunion to see all her old classmates.
