Mohamed Elborgy built the Chefgenie app as a Free/Freemium/Ad-supported app. This SERVICE is provided by Mohamed Elborgy at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.

Information Collection and Use For a better experience while using our Service, I may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that I request will be retained on your device and is not collected by me in any way / will be securely stored and processed to provide app functionality [choose the one that applies to your database setup].

To provide Chefgenie's core features, we collect and process the following specific types of data:

• Health and Fitness Data: To calculate your daily calorie goals (e.g., 1891 kcal) and provide accurate dietary recommendations, the app collects physical attributes including age, gender, height, weight, weight goals (e.g., lose, maintain, or gain weight), and physical activity levels. This data is strictly used for in-app calculations and personalization.

• Dietary Preferences: We collect your preferred cuisines, meal types, and specific dietary restrictions (such as Low FODMAP) to tailor recipe suggestions.

• Camera and Photo Library Access: Chefgenie requires access to your device's camera and photo gallery to allow you to visually log your meals and track your daily calorie intake. Images captured or uploaded are used solely for the purpose of food recognition and logging within the app.

Third-Party Services The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Chefgenie integrates with external platforms to enhance your experience, such as linking to YouTube for recipe preparation videos. These third-party services have their own Privacy Policies addressing how they handle data.

Log Data I want to inform you that whenever you use my Service, in a case of an error in the app I collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing my Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Security I value your trust in providing us your Personal Information and health data, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Deletion You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data stored by ChefGenie at any time.

To request data deletion:

1. In-app: Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This will permanently delete your account and all associated personal data including your health profile, dietary preferences, calorie logs, and bookmarked recipes.

2. By email: Send a data deletion request to muhammad.elborgy@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your ChefGenie account. We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days.

Please note that once your data is deleted, this action cannot be undone. Some anonymous, non-identifiable data may be retained for aggregate analytics purposes only.

Changes to This Privacy Policy I may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
