CheeSmart - Cheese Smart Don’t let stale cheese spoil an evening’s meal, snack or wine tasting. Our exclusive solution ensures fresh, flavorful cheese for wine tastings or other events. It features a removable condensation control grid that preserves cheese texture and flavor while safeguarding your fridge from odors. 12 x 8 x 4” Rectangle, 8 1/3 x 8 x 3 1/3” Small Square, 6 1/3 x 6 x 3” mini.
A Tupperware patent pending CondensControl(tm) filter system keeps the flavor in the container and fights condensation, while giving excellent preservation in all cheeses, whether it be a soft cheese, like Brie, or even a hard cheese like Cheddar or Gruyere, it keeps the cheese fresh longer.
No more draining dampness inside the container and there's barely any smell in the refrigerator. The CheeSmart has a grid that absorbs the moisture and transmits it to the outside. In the CheeSmart you can store several cheeses at the same time.
The CheeSmart is good not only for cheese but also for smoked meat, salami sausages and more. The tray is reversible with generous corners and the cover fits on either side - use the deep side for more depth. So elegant, it can be used not only as a storage but also doubles very well as a serving tray. The cover of the CheeSmart server also boasts elegant windows, which enable you to see the contents. The cover and tray are easy to clean, and are dishwasher safe.
The CheeSmart (tm) is a revolutionary container for storing and keeping cheese in the refrigerator. It creates the perfect environment for your cheese. It is inside the product to prevent smells and to keep from drying out, but it is breathing through the perforated top to keep it at it's best. To understand how these work, let's understand the science of cheese making. The magic that is cheese only really needs four ingredients to happen: milk, salt, rennet (or some other coagulant), and microbes. “Microbe” is short for microorganism -- any microscopic living organism. There are many things found in this branch of the evolutionary tree. In cheese we usually find bacteria, yeasts, and molds. Even looking at just these categories leaves thousands upon thousands of microbes that could potentially be found in cheese. These microbes (bacteria) that are added to the milk very early in cheese making induce the fermentation process. The main reaction taking place here is the conversion of lactose to lactic acid, acidifying the milk. Adjunct microbes can be added for reasons other than just producing lactic acid. In many cases, adjuncts are added to encourage flavor development in the cheese. Because cheese is made from these living, breathing microbes, it needs to breathe and it needs the humidity regulated.
While the CheeSmart looks like a fairly simple plastic container, its lid has special holes to help with condensation/humidity control. This design also manages to keep odors in while controlling the moisture level. All you have to do is simply place your unwrapped cheese inside, and the container does the work preserving its taste and freshness and your fridge remains wonderfully full of cheese but free of their strong odor. And you haven’t wasted any cheese due to poor storage. So it really is a Smart container!
