"Act well your part; there all the honor lies"-International Thespian Society Motto
Important Date: Texas Thespian Junior Festival
When: Wednesday November 15, 2023
Where: Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, 1501 Gaylord Trail, Grapevine, TX 76051
Cost: Starting at $85. Snacks and shopping are extra.
What that cost includes: transportation to and from the site, lunch, workshops, opening and closing ceremonies, festival shirt, and memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.
Transportation: we will take a Denton ISD school bus that will leave Cheek Middle School, and return the same day after the festival. Look below for more information. Packets will go out on 9-7-23 to those students who are interested.
Who can go: Any student enrolled in a theatre class. Students must be passing and will be expected to uphold the values and be an example of the Cheek Theatre department. Any student who misrepresents the department may be sent home early.
Why they should go: it's a great way to see what being a Thespian is all about before they get to high school. Once they are in high school, there are more workshops they can attend, they can audition for college scholarships, visit with different colleges and performing arts programs, compete in individual events (IE's) and possibly qualify for Nationals and attend the International Thespian Festival in Indiana and meet students from all over the world. There's no energy like the energy of 8,000 high school students who are as passionate about theatre as you! It also looks great on college applications and transcripts.
Students who attend will be required to wear their Cheek Theatre shirts. We can only take up to 50 students on the trip. So turn in your packets early to guarantee you a seat.
Here is all of the festival information!
Any student who attends will need to provide a copy of their medical card.
We are in the process of building the inaugural Cheek Middle School Junior Thespian Troupe. More information to come.
