Story of CheckMate

CheckMate is a simple checklist application created to allow categorization of input items into main and sub categories. The creation of CheckMate started in 2017 when I was looking for a checklist application. Looking through the App Store, I found tonnes of such applications however I could not find one that allow me to add main and sub item into a checklist without manual indentation to the items.

This need triggered the idea of creating my own checklist application. Without any background and knowledge on Swift programming, I decided to take this opportunity to learn. I started picking up swift by working on tutorials posted by Apple and those found on the web. To understand the process of UI/UX design, I enrolled into Udemy courses and read on articles about UI typology and colour psychology. The knowledge I gained from these resources was helpful and enabled me to build a prototype and eventually a working CheckMate application.
