CheckInOk is designed to help groups coordinate scheduled safety check-ins and notify trusted contacts if a check-in is missed or marked “Not OK”.
We take privacy and reliability seriously.
When you sign in, we collect:
Your email address
Your Firebase user ID (UID)
This information is used to uniquely identify your account.
You may provide:
A display name
To operate the service, we store:
Groups you create or join
Group member roles (e.g., sender / receiver / admin)
Check-in schedules (time, repeat settings)
Check-in occurrences and their status (Pending, OK, Missed, Not OK)
Incident state related to missed or Not OK check-ins
Device tokens used for push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
Basic diagnostic data such as crash reports to improve reliability
We use your information to:
Authenticate your account
Allow you to create and manage groups
Notify group members when:
A check-in is due
A check-in is missed
A check-in is marked “Not OK”
Improve reliability and fix bugs
Maintain the integrity of safety alerts
CheckInOk may send time-sensitive safety notifications.
These notifications may include alerts related to missed or Not OK check-ins.
You can manage notification permissions in your device settings.
CheckInOk uses Google Firebase services, including:
Firebase Authentication
Cloud Firestore
Cloud Functions
Firebase Cloud Messaging
Data may be processed on secure Google infrastructure.
We do not sell your personal information.
Information is shared only:
With members of groups you join, as required for the app’s core functionality
With Google Firebase services to operate the app
If required by law
We retain group and check-in data for as long as needed to provide the service and maintain reliability.
Users may request account deletion and associated data removal by contacting us.
You may:
Leave a group (if permitted by the group administrator)
Request deletion of your account and associated data

Include your User ID (if known) it is displayed on your profile page.
What will be deleted:
Your account information
Group membership records
Check-in schedules associated with your account
Associated occurrence records where applicable
What may be retained:
Limited system logs required for security and fraud prevention (retained for a limited period)
Aggregated, anonymised data that cannot identify you
We will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe.
