CheckerChess ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use CheckerChess.

Player Names: When you play online matches, you can enter a display name that will be visible to your opponents during gameplay. This is optional and you can use any name you choose.
Room Codes: When creating or joining private game rooms, you may create or enter room codes to connect with specific players.
Game Data: We temporarily store game state information (piece positions, moves, game setup) in Firebase Realtime Database to enable real-time multiplayer functionality. This data is only stored during active game sessions.
Technical Information: We may collect basic technical information necessary for app functionality, such as device type and operating system version.
We use the collected information solely to:
Enable real-time multiplayer gameplay between players
Maintain game state synchronization across devices
Allow players to create and join game rooms
Display player names during matches
Ensure proper game functionality
We do NOT use your information for:
Advertising or marketing
Selling to third parties
Tracking across other apps or websites
Building user profiles
Storage:
All game data is stored in Firebase Realtime Database (a Google Cloud service)
Game sessions and associated data are temporary and tied to active games

Firebase/Google Services: We use Firebase Realtime Database (operated by Google LLC) to enable multiplayer functionality. Firebase may process data according to their own privacy policy available at: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our rights and safety.
No Other Third Parties: We do not share your information with advertisers, analytics companies, or other third parties.
CheckerChess does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. The app is designed as a general audience game suitable for all ages.

Choose what player name to display (or use default names)

Stop using the app at any time
Data Deletion:
Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device
Game session data is automatically deleted from our servers when games end
Contact us to request deletion of any residual data
Opt-Out:
You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app
Active Games: Game data is stored only during active gameplay sessions.
Completed Games: Game data is automatically deleted when games end or rooms are closed.
No Long-Term Storage: We do not maintain long-term storage of personal information, game history, or user profiles.
Uninstalling: Uninstalling the app removes all local data immediately.
CheckerChess uses Firebase, which operates globally. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through Firebase's compliance with international data protection standards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by:
Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Posting a notice in the app (for significant changes)
