Lecture series

Fabrice Bethuel - Vectorial  Allen-Cahn problems and their asymptotics

Andrea Malchiodi - Variational methods and Liouville equations

Liouville equations play a crucial role in Conformal Geometry when prescribing the Gaussian curvature of a surface, possibly singular, as well as in models from Mathematical Physics that describe stationary Euler flows, Electro-weak and Chern-Simons models of superconductivity.

We will focus on the variational theory of these equations, which has an intriguing structure. It can be described in terms of the distribution of conformal volume, using improved versions of the Moser-Trudinger inequality. This has to be combined with min-max tools, as well as with compactness and quantization results. We aim to present at the end some related research directions.

Monica Musso - Gluing methods for 2-dimensional vortex dynamics in Euler flows

Poster Session

There will be a poster session organized during the event. All participants will be able to participate (simply bring your printed poster, any format is fine).

Transportation - bus from Warsaw

Transportation to the conference venue from Warsaw will be organized on Sunday afternoon (July 2). The bus will be leaving Warsaw around 17:00. We expect to be in Warsaw on July 7th before 9pm.

On July 2nd the room 2180 at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw will be reserved for the participants of the summer school. You may stay there or just leave your luggage there. The room will be open from 12:00 to 17:00.

How to reach room 2180?  Enter the building of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw, go to the second floor. The room 2180 is behind the staircase.

We plan that the bus to Chęciny will depart

on July 2nd (Sunday) at 5 pm from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw

Address: ul. Banacha 2, 02-097 Warszawa
