Personal Statement
Dr. Chun-Hsiang (Michael) Chuang received his PhD in electrical and control engineering from the National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) in Taiwan in 2014. He had been offered the first full-time position of his science career at the Brain Research Center, NCTU, as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Assistant Researcher in April 2014. He started his employment at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) from 2016 to 2017. Then he joined as Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Taiwan Ocean University.
Currently, he is Assistant Professor in the College of Education, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan and Honorary Associate of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, UTS, Australia.
He has made several contributions to the field of biomedical signal processing, brain-computer interface, and machine learning, with several research articles published in Nature Scientific Reports, NeuroImage, International Journal of Neural Systems, IEEE Transactions, Journal of Neural Engineering, Knowledge-Based Systems, and Frontiers in Neuroscience. He has built a strong network of collaborators based at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), US Army Research Laboratory, Indian Statistical Institute, and Technical University of Berlin.
