Welcome to ChatUp. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have regarding your information when using our mobile application and related services (“ChatUp”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).


Data controller. The data controller responsible for your personal information is MOBILIKE TECHNOLOGY US LIMITED (“ChatUp,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), unless we notify you otherwise. This Privacy Policy should be read together with the ChatUp Terms of Use.


By using ChatUp, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.

1. Scope of This Policy


This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the ChatUp app and website. It forms part of the ChatUp Terms of Use. Terms not defined here share the same meaning as in the Terms of Use.


ChatUp may contain links to third-party websites, plug-ins, or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to data collected by such third parties, and we are not responsible for their practices.


We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the revised policy in the app, on our website, or through other appropriate channels. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We collect information that you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use ChatUp, and information we obtain through permissions on your device.


2.1 Information You Provide


Account Information

When you create an account, you provide information such as:

• email address (for example, for account access, security, notifications, and customer support)

• mobile phone number (only if you provide it or we collect it for account, security, or communications, including SMS where offered)

• gender

• date of birth

• age

• city or region

• linked social media account information (including profile photo and gender)

Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies to improve your experience and customize content. You may disable cookies in your device or browser settings, but certain features may not function properly. On mobile devices, we and our partners may use similar technologies (such as SDKs) for analytics, advertising, and personalization where permitted. Your operating system may provide controls (for example, App Tracking Transparency and device advertising settings) that limit certain uses of advertising identifiers.

ChatUp uses certain device permissions to provide core functions. These permissions are always optional and require your explicit approval.

User-generated content (UGC) policy:

Text messages, photos, videos, or other content you choose to send to other users are transmitted peer-to-peer where possible and are not stored on our servers, except where needed temporarily for delivery, moderation, or legal compliance.


Once you share content with others, we cannot control how it is used.


4. Marketing, Communications, and Advertising


Service-related communications. We may send communications necessary to operate and secure your account and our services, such as verification messages, security alerts, transactional notices, and important policy updates. You cannot opt out of these essential communications while your account remains active unless you close your account.


Marketing and promotional communications. Where permitted by applicable law, we may send marketing and promotional communications through one or more channels, including email, in-app notifications, push notifications, and SMS/text messages (as available in your region), subject to your preferences and any consent requirements that apply.


If SMS marketing is offered for your account or region, we will obtain your consent through the in-app consent mechanism (for example, a checkbox) before sending promotional SMS, where required by applicable law.


You may opt out of marketing communications at any time using the channel-specific method provided in the message (for example, an “Unsubscribe” link in email, in-app controls where available, or SMS instructions where supported) or by contacting us at help@chatup.plus. Opting out of marketing communications does not affect essential service-related communications.


Advertising identifiers and personalization. As described in Section 2.3, we may use identifiers such as GAID (where available) for analytics, personalization, and to deliver and measure more relevant advertising. Where required by law, we will obtain consent or rely on another lawful basis before using such identifiers for advertising or tracking, consistent with your device settings and applicable platform requirements.


Opt-out records. We may retain a minimal record of your marketing opt-out preference (for example, a suppression-list entry) as necessary to honor your request and avoid sending further marketing messages.


5. How We Share Your Information


We share your information in the following situations:


5.1 Sharing Within ChatUp


• Public profile information is visible to all users.

• Your online/active status may be shown to others.


Please do not upload information you do not wish to be public.


5.2 Service Providers & Partners


We work with third-party partners that help operate our services, including analytics providers, cloud hosting, and moderation tools. Depending on your region and settings, we may also work with advertising and measurement partners to deliver and measure ads. These partners may process information as described in this Privacy Policy and their own policies. These partners only process your data as instructed by us and must follow strict confidentiality obligations.

You may view and edit your account information at any time within the app’s profile settings.


6.2 Account Deletion


You may request deletion through the in-app settings or by contacting us. If we need to verify your identity before processing a deletion request, we will do so within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.


We will process verified deletion requests within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements.


Even after deletion:

• some information may remain visible if previously shared with others

• we may retain data as required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes

• de-identified data may be retained for analytics


6.3 Managing Permissions


You may manage device permissions (camera, microphone, photos, location, notifications) in your device settings. Disabling certain permissions may limit app functionality.


6.4 Marketing preferences


You may opt out of marketing communications as described in Section 4. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights regarding personal information. To exercise those rights, contact us using Section 8.


7. Security


We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. However, no system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
