For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), EDIFITION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Chat Lover app and keyboard access, collect, use, store and share, why we use it, how long we retain it, and the choices and rights available to you.
The chatlover.app website and its chat-analysis tool are separate services and may have their own privacy policy. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Chat Lover mobile application and Chat Lover keyboard.
We do not record what you type. Your keystrokes go directly to the app or text field where you are typing. They are not stored, logged or sent to us.
We do not read your chats. The keyboard does not access your conversations, notifications, contacts or data from other applications.
AI only runs when you ask for it. A message is sent for AI processing only when you provide text in the AI panel and request an AI-generated reply.
We do not permanently store messages submitted for AI replies. The message is processed to generate a response and is not written to our database or application logs.
You control the AI feature. You can turn AI replies off at any time from the app settings.
You can disable analytics. You can turn usage analytics off from the app settings.
You can delete your account directly from the app. Account deletion is available from the Settings section.

We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your personal data for advertising or behavioral profiling.
We do not use your messages to train AI models.
We do not use an advertising ID for Chat Lover.
Chat Lover is an Android keyboard (input method) with an optional AI reply feature.
When you type using Chat Lover, your keystrokes are provided to the text field in the application where you are typing.
Chat Lover does not maintain a history of your keystrokes and does not send ordinary keystrokes to our servers.
The Chat Lover keyboard does not intentionally read:
Your existing chat conversations
Chat history
Notifications
Contacts
Data belonging to other applications
Browsing history
SMS
Call logs
Photos or files
Chat Lover does not use Android Accessibility Services.
The keyboard may access clipboard content only when you explicitly tap the Paste button inside the AI panel to provide copied text for an AI reply.
Chat Lover does not continuously monitor or read your clipboard in the background.
On supported Android versions, Android may display a system notification indicating that an application has accessed or pasted clipboard content.
AI features are disabled in password, PIN and other sensitive input fields where Android or the application indicates that keyboard input should not be learned or processed.
Chat Lover does not send messages on your behalf.
The AI feature only generates a suggested reply and places the reply you select into the text field. You remain responsible for reviewing, editing and sending the message.
When you enable a third-party keyboard, Android may display a standard warning stating that the keyboard may be able to collect text you type.
This warning is displayed by Android for third-party keyboards generally. As described in this Privacy Policy, Chat Lover does not collect or store ordinary keystrokes.

Firebase may generate a notification token for optional push notification functionality. We currently do not use push notifications for marketing.

Until the token is refreshed, the app is uninstalled, or the account is deleted, as applicable.
Keyboard access token
Allows the keyboard to request AI functionality for your account without requiring repeated sign-in.
Your device's encrypted storage.
Automatically expires within the applicable token lifetime and is removed when you sign out, disable AI access or delete your account.
User preferences
To remember your selected style, language, reply length, emoji level and vibration preferences.
Your device.
Until you change the settings, uninstall the app or otherwise clear the relevant local data.

We use information only for purposes necessary to operate and improve Chat Lover, including:
Providing the Chat Lover app and keyboard.
Generating AI reply suggestions that you request.
Creating and managing user accounts.
Maintaining account security.
Applying usage limits and preventing abuse.
Maintaining service reliability.
Detecting and preventing fraud, misuse and security threats.
Diagnosing crashes and technical problems.
Understanding aggregate product usage and improving the application.
Reviewing AI replies that users voluntarily report for safety or policy reasons.
Complying with applicable laws and lawful government requests.
We do not:
Sell your personal data.
Rent your personal data.
Use your data for advertising.
Use your data for behavioral advertising or profiling.
Sell data to data brokers.
Use messages submitted for AI replies to train our own AI models.
Intentionally use your private conversations for AI training.
Where required under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process personal data based on your consent and other lawful grounds available under applicable law.
You may withdraw consent where applicable. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that was lawfully completed before withdrawal.
Chat Lover uses Google Gemini through Google Cloud Vertex AI to generate AI reply suggestions.
When you explicitly request an AI reply:
The text you provide is sent to our backend.
Our backend sends the relevant request to Google Cloud Vertex AI.
Gemini processes the request and generates a reply.
The generated reply is returned to Chat Lover.
The temporary processing data is discarded according to the retention practices described in this policy.
Google Cloud is used as a service provider for AI processing.
We do not intentionally use the messages submitted to Chat Lover for AI model training.
AI-generated responses may sometimes be:
Incorrect
Incomplete
Unexpected
Inappropriate for the conversation
Different from what you intended
You should always review an AI-generated reply before sending it.
If you report an AI-generated reply using the report button, the reported reply and the information you provide with the report may be reviewed for safety, abuse prevention and product improvement.
The original message you used to request the reply is not intentionally included in the report unless you separately provide it in your report.
We may share personal data with service providers that process information on our behalf and only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate Chat Lover.

Our backend services and AI-related processing may operate through Google Cloud infrastructure.
Where configured, our application backend may use the Mumbai, India region (asia-south1).
Our Cloud Firestore database may be hosted in the United States or another Google Cloud location depending on the applicable Firebase configuration.
Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging and other Google services may process information on Google infrastructure located in different countries.
Where personal data is transferred outside India, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate contractual, technical and organisational safeguards and comply with applicable Indian data protection requirements.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
These measures include:
HTTPS/TLS encryption for network communications.
Authentication and authorization controls for backend requests.
Signed authentication tokens.
Secure storage of keyboard access credentials on the device.
Automatic expiration and revocation of keyboard access credentials.
Restricted access to production systems.
Short retention periods for operational logs.
Avoiding storage of AI message content in our permanent database.
No internet service or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
If we become aware of a personal data breach requiring notification under applicable law, we will take the required steps to notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.
You have control over several privacy settings within Chat Lover.
You can disable AI replies from:

After AI replies are disabled, Chat Lover will not send text to our AI processing service for reply generation.
The keyboard can continue to function as a normal keyboard.
You can disable optional usage analytics from:

Settings → Keyboard → Sign Out the Keyboard
You can delete your account directly from inside the Chat Lover app.

You can delete your Chat Lover account directly from within the Chat Lover application at any time.
Open Chat Lover and go to:

Follow the confirmation steps shown in the application.
Once account deletion is confirmed, you will be signed out and account-related data will be deleted or de-identified in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

When you delete your account, we generally delete or de-identify:
Your account information.
Your Firebase account identifier.
Your sign-in information associated with the Chat Lover account.
Usage counts associated with your account.
Keyboard access credentials associated with your account.
Other account information that is not required to be retained by law.
AI replies that you voluntarily reported may be retained for safety, abuse prevention, legal or compliance purposes.
Where reasonably possible, such reported content will be permanently unlinked from your account after account deletion.
Short-lived technical logs and crash reports may remain for their applicable retention periods.
Currently:
Server/technical logs: up to 30 days
Crash reports/diagnostics: up to 90 days
These may not be immediately deleted when you delete your account because they are maintained separately for security, reliability, fraud prevention or technical purposes.
Chat Lover does not intentionally store the messages you submit to the AI reply feature in its permanent database.
Accordingly, there is generally no permanent message history to delete.
Temporary processing copies may exist for a limited period as described in this Privacy Policy.
Chat Lover is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older.
We do not knowingly provide Chat Lover for use by children under 18.

Chat Lover uses certain third-party services to provide authentication, cloud infrastructure, analytics, crash reporting and AI processing.
These services may process information according to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations with us.
The primary third-party services used by Chat Lover include Google Cloud and Firebase services.
We recommend reviewing the relevant Google service privacy documentation for additional information about how Google processes information when providing its services.
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required by applicable law.
Different categories of information have different retention periods.
Examples include:
AI request content: temporary processing only.
AI reply temporary server copy: up to approximately 2 minutes where required for retry protection.
Analytics: up to approximately 2 months.
Crash reports: up to approximately 90 days.
Technical/security logs: up to approximately 30 days.
Account information: generally until account deletion, subject to legal requirements.
Reported AI content: retained as reasonably necessary for safety, abuse prevention, compliance or legal purposes.
Because Chat Lover uses cloud infrastructure and third-party service providers, information may be processed in countries other than India.
We use reasonable contractual, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data during such processing.
We will comply with applicable Indian data protection laws and other applicable legal requirements relating to international transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:
Changes to the Chat Lover app.
Changes to our data practices.
New features.
Changes to third-party services.
Changes in applicable laws or regulations.
When we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the app or another appropriate method where required.
