6th Grade Required Materials

• Instrument 

  • Students will be tested for instruments in the first several weeks of school. After these werks, each student and the director will decide what instrument the student will play.

  • Can be rented from Hill City Music in Lynchburg. 

  • If you plan on purchasing your own instrument, please see below for a list of quality brands for your instrument.

• Mouthpiece (for Woodwinds and Brass)

  • Mouthpieces should come with the instrument

  • Woodwinds = included with instrument

  • Trumpet = 5C

  • Horn = 11

  • Trombone & Baritone = 6 1/2 AL

  • Tuba = 18

• Reeds (for Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, and Bassoon)

  • Mr. Epperly will have a limited number of reeds to give out, purchase your own!

  • Vandoren Brand or D'Addario Brand Reeds are recommended.

  • Clarinet & Saxophone = a box of strength #2.5 reeds

  • Oboe & Bassoon = at least two soft or medium soft reeds

• Percussion Only

  • Optional but recommended: Innovative Percussion Intermediate Percussion Pack
