PRIVACY POLICY - ChatGPT Assistant Pro
SUMMARY
ChatGPT Assistant Pro does not collect, transmit, sell or share any
personal data. The extension makes no network requests of any kind. It
has no server, no backend, no analytics, no advertising and no
tracking. Everything it does happens locally in your browser.
1. WHO WE ARE
ChatGPT Assistant Pro ("the extension") is a browser extension that
adds a prompt library and productivity panel to the ChatGPT website.
This policy explains exactly what the extension does with data.
2. WHAT THE EXTENSION STORES
The extension stores the following in your browser's local extension
storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device:
- Your settings: panel width, panel side, theme, auto-send on/off,
quick-search on/off, floating icon hidden or visible.
- Prompts you create yourself: their title, category and text.
- The prompts you mark as favourites.
- A list of up to 30 recently used prompts (titles only).
That is the complete list. This data never leaves your device. It is
not sent to us or to anyone else, because the extension has no code
that transmits data anywhere. You can delete all of it at any time
with the "Reset everything" button in the extension's Settings tab, or
by removing the extension.
3. WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES NOT COLLECT
- No personal information (name, email address, address, phone, age).
- No account or login credentials of any kind.
- No financial or payment information.
- No health information.
- No location data.
- No web browsing history.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reports or usage statistics.
- No advertising or tracking identifiers.
- No cookies.
4. YOUR CHATGPT CONVERSATIONS
The extension can read the text of the conversation that is open in
your browser tab. It does this only when you press a button, and only
to perform the action you asked for:
- Word / character / message counts shown in the Chat tab.
- "Copy last reply" and "Copy full chat", which write to your
clipboard.
- "Markdown", "Text" and "JSON" export, which create a file that your
browser downloads to your own computer.
Conversation content is processed in the page's memory for that single
action and is not stored by the extension, not written to extension
storage, and not sent over the network. There is no server to send it
to.
5. WHAT THE EXTENSION WRITES
When you insert a prompt, the extension types that text into the
ChatGPT message box on the page you are viewing, exactly as if you had
typed it yourself. If you choose "Insert & send" (or turn on
auto-send), it also clicks the site's own send button. Nothing is sent
to any other destination.
6. PERMISSIONS AND WHY THEY ARE NEEDED

To save your settings, your own prompts, your favourites and your
recent list on your device. Nothing else.
- Host access to chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com
The extension's panel runs only on these two sites. This access is
required to display the panel, read the composer and conversation
on the page, and insert your prompt into the message box. The
extension requests no access to any other website.
The extension does not request the tabs, history, cookies, downloads,
webRequest, clipboardRead or "all sites" permissions.
7. THIRD PARTIES
The extension bundles no third-party libraries, SDKs, fonts, scripts,
analytics or advertising services. It loads nothing from any remote
server. No data is shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third
party for any purpose.
8. CHILDREN
The extension does not collect data from anyone, including children.
9. DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION
Because no data is transmitted or stored outside your browser, there
is no database or server that could be breached. Your data lives in
your browser profile for as long as you keep the extension installed,
and is removed when you uninstall it or use "Reset everything".
10. YOUR RIGHTS
You can view, edit, export (as JSON) and delete everything the
extension stores directly in the extension's own interface at any
time. No request to us is needed, and we hold no copy of your data.
11. LIMITED USE DISCLOSURE
The use of information received by this extension adheres to the
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use
requirements. The extension collects no user data, and therefore
transfers, sells or uses none for advertising, credit assessment or
any purpose other than the user-facing features described above.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published with a
new "Last updated" date on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing
before the change takes effect.
