Guitar, Vocals

Carson Weems was raised in Wimberley, Texas, and has been writing and performing original music for almost 10 years. While attending Texas State University to study guitar and performing in the TXST Jazz Ensemble, he has been hard at work in the studio, being featured on several projects including; Soma Jerome, Sam Downing, Anabelle E., and Dawn Atlas. Carson Weems founded Chasing Tigers with long time friend, Miles Love, in 2018. 

Vocals

Charlotte Smith, from Houston, Texas, has been performing onstage for over 10 years. She participated in theatre, choir, and opera throughout high school and college, and was awarded Best Performer in 2020. She has released music under her solo project, Charlotte Darling. She’s also been featured in projects like AnaBelle and the Stargazers and The Kevin Schultz Experience. She joined Chasing Tigers in 2025, writing songs and singing. 

Pianist

Miles Love is a pianist and keyboardist from Wimberley, Texas, and he’s been playing music for as long as he can remember. He currently studies at Texas State University, where he’s working towards a degree in classical piano performance. In addition to classical music, some of Miles’s favorite genres to play include rock, jazz, and folk. In 2018, he and childhood friend Carson Weems formed Chasing Tigers, and he switched from drums to keyboard with the band.

Collin Winters

Drums

Collin Winters was born and raised in Leander, Texas, attending Leander Hih School from 2017-2021. He marched snare drum for 4 years, being the drum captain for his last 2 years. Winters made region jazz twice playing drumset in 2018, and 2020. He also won the band program’s “most valuable percussionist” award in 2020 and 2021. He marched 2 years of snare drum for the Bobcat Marching Band, and 1 year of xylophone. He has been a part of the Wind Symphony for 4 semesters, including 1 being principal. Recently, Winters was named one of the winners of the 2024 TXST concerto/aria competition. 

Sammy Shelor

Bassist

Sammy Shelor is from Wimberley, Texas, and has been gigging in and around Central Texas for 5 years. and has played in church bands for 8 years, including serving as a worship leader. He is currently attending Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, majoring in Human Resource Management while participating in the jazz ensemble. Sammy has worked with several projects, including Soma Jerome, Sam Downing, and Bo Moore. He has been gigging with Chasing Tigers periodically since 2021 and went full-time in 2025.
