We are very happy to present our work on two papers in EMNLP this year:
Attending such a huge conference online was a one-of-its-kind experience!
I passed the Tier 2 test online, and qualified for Pink Gloves Boxing Tier 3!
I'm very grateful to have been able to continue classes online after the COVID-19 disruption. It was a very different experience, unlike any other... Looking forward to Tier 3!
I presented my research to New York legislators and the SUNY Faculty Senate at the Legislative Office Building in Albany, NY.
It was a great opportunity to meet with lawmakers, and a nice learning experience on effectively presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences!
Very happy to have presented our paper 'The Trumpiest Trump? Identifying a Subject's Most Characteristic Tweets' in EMNLP 2019, in Hong Kong!
This was my first NLP conference, and it was an incredible learning experience!
It's an honor to have been awarded this scholarship... It's an incredible incentive and encouragement to keep writing and publishing!
I'm very happy to share that I have been awarded the Google Travel Scholarship to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration in Florida this year!
This was my first time attending GHC, and it was wonderful to be a part of the world's largest gathering of women technologists!
At this wonderful intern summit for Google Women Engineers, I had the pleasure to attend panels on leadership, overcoming challenge, and lifting each other up... along with the chance to network with 600 other women interns!
Some of the Google Pittsburgh interns on the cruise, with a Pittsburgh city bridge in the background
Pit on a boat - the entire Google Pittsburgh office went on a boat cruise in the three lovely rivers of Pittsburgh: Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio!
Try - Experiment - Apply.... Some inspiring talks by Area 120 partners Jason Toff, Fuzzy Khosrowshahi, and Chris Ross among others... plus a Design Thinking workshop!
Cloud Gate - Millenium Park, Chicago
I got the opportunity to attend this wonderful event in Chicago. I met many inspiring women in computing, from academia as well as industry. The very inspiring keynote speech - "The Pursuit of Collective Intelligence, and Happiness, in Science" - by Prof. Radhika Nagpal was definitely a highlight!
I also met many graduate students from all over the country, and got a fresh perspective on the grad school experience. I also presented a poster on my work, and got constructive feedback. It was an amazing experience, and I'm very glad I could be a part of this event!
Having fun at the reception hosted by Microsoft Research!
I won 2nd prize for Best Poster at the Women's Research in STEM Showcase, organized by GWISE (Graduate Women in Science and Engineering) at Stony Brook. The event had short talks and poster presentations by graduate students from many departments.
There was an insightful panel discussion on what it means to be a woman in science, and how to survive it.
I presented a poster on my work on user characterization at the Graduate Research Day, organized by the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University.
I won the award for Best Poster in NLP/Data Science/ML! :)
We won 2nd place at Google Games NY!
This was a team competition to solve puzzles using clues and coding skills - it was super fun!
We enjoyed the short trip from Stony Brook to Google's NYC office too :)
I presented a paper at IEEE CCNC 2018, on my undergraduate research work done with my teammates, Mihir and Awantee. This was my first publication, so it was very exciting!
Bellagio, Las Vegas
Our team (COEP) won the 1st Prize at National Robocon India 2017, and our team members went on to represent India at International Robocon in Japan!
