Student Review Work
To begin my work I will be looking at past students work and establishing what they did well and if that would be something I may take forward into my EPQ.
This student used a formal layout which I believe is very user friendly as the page titles are clear and you will be able to navigate their site well. When going to their home page you can scroll down to find their initial ideas and then their top 2. I like how they have used a mood board to establish their themes and influences. They have done a fairly detailed rationale, project concept, evaluation as well a action plan. One feature of their layout I like is how when you get to the bottom of the page you are also able to select your next page, instead of having to scroll back up to the top.
This student has gone into lots of detail however I would like to go into more detail, talking about social and political context. When looking at their proposal, I like how they have added in a power point for readers to look through. Each section and paragraph is well labeled and again clear to the reader what they will be discussing.
Their research is extremely detailed and there is a good quantity of relevant research.
I like how they have laid out there images and designs however I feel like their could be more writing to explain why they have done it and what they like about it.
The students production log is very accurate to the dates and is like a diary which is good.
Their evaluation is detailed and goes over what they did and why they did it. They also discussed what they changed and if they were to do it again. This is good as it is reflective and can help the student in their future work.
When I first looked at this students work I loved the layout. I liked how on the home page there are buttons which will lead you to the page you want to view. To begin with i went to the "Getting Started" page. This showed research and explained what each music video was about and why she liked it and also the context behind the video and song. When landing on what song she explained what she wanted her video to show. She goes into major detail over what she likes and doesn't like making it clear to the reader what she wants her video to be. She began looking to posters to think about the mise en scen. She put together PowerPoints which I liked as they did a slideshow almost adding a interactive feel to it.
Moving over to her proposal, she added in her proposal form. I think there could have been a bit more writing in explaining what her plan was. However, she did do lots of writing on her getting started section so I don't think it's missed out too much.
Her research is detailed and she has completed a range of tasks which are relevant to her project. For instance, She did a range of primary research interviews discussing beauty standard's. After completing them she did a write up about her responses. The students research is extremely in depth and helpful towards her music videos context as well as visuals. She has used range of images to refer to what she's discussing which is helpful and the reader can learn to understand what is being talked about.
I really like how she has created a PowerPoint to familiarise readers with what her music video was about and what her aims were.
