The Great Cookout is a 2D Unity RPG with interactable elements I made for my Game Engine For Programmers class. The goal of this project was to create a game where multiple NPCs with dialogue changes based on whether the player has certain criteria fulfilled. We used singletons and state machines to keep the UI and game state in order. We could use external sprites & tile sets and the ones that I used all came from itch.io. The plot of the game is that there is a great cookout happening in town, but all of the people living there are missing their favorite vegetable to make their dishes! Can you help them find their ingredients?
