Requirements: Initially, a 600-meter-long, somewhat strenuous sandy path above the lagoon, followed by a few steps. Once at the top, there is practically no incline; the gravel paths are wide and comfortable. From Amado, the trail continues on lane-wide dirt roads. Another moderate incline follows, after which we return through the village to the dune parking lot.

Characteristics: A very scenic hike from the lagoon at Carrapateira Beach to the viewpoint of the beautiful Praia da Bordeira and Pontal, with magnificent views of the sea and coast, the small harbor, and the ruins of the Islamic fishing village of Zimbreirinha. We can use the boardwalks along the way to get particularly close to the wild coast there. The trail continues on an easy path to Praia do Amado, where we can take a short coffee break. Then our trail leads into the beautiful hinterland, in a short loop to Carrapateira and back to the dune parking lot.

Requirements: Mostly comfortable and relatively wide paths, hardly rocky and quite easy to walk. Only the stairs from the fishing harbor are a bit strenuous, otherwise there are hardly any inclines.

Characteristics: Very beautiful hike with wonderful views of the rugged coastal landscape off Sagres. We first walk along Martinhal Beach through the still-bustling, quaint fishing harbor. We then climb to Forte da Baleeira and continue to Ponta da Atalaia, a viewing point with a platform and magnificent views along the coast. Passing the Pousada de Sagres, we hike along the cliffs of Mareta Beach into Sagres for a coffee break. The return route takes us through the town and around the currently dry Martinhal lagoon back to the starting point.

Characteristics: Very beautiful, comfortable and partly shady circular hike between the hills in the hinterland of Bordeira. After a slight climb, we come through a lush and romantic cork oak forest and on a short detour to a hidden, well-filled lake. There is a second one, but that would be too far away. After crossing a stream (shoes can be left on for now), we hike back to Bordeira on a flat, partly shady forest path.

Wide, mostly flat paths, occasionally a bit gravelly, occasionally shady, may be slightly softened by rain in places, with a small, moderate climb at the beginning.

Characteristics: Pedralva and Vilarinha are almost exclusively hotel villages, but they have a charming feel. It's possible to reach Vilarinha by taking a loop over a mountain (a somewhat steeper ascent and descent, where hiking poles are recommended) or by taking flat, wide paths. This is a charming landscape, partly natural, partly agricultural.

Refreshment options: Either at the end in Pedralva and possibly also in Vilarinha "Monte da Vilarinha Hotel" (still to be clarified).

Refreshment options: There's also the option of dining at Ingrina at the end of the tour. It's a very nice atmosphere and the fish is excellent.

Requirements: Some slightly longer but manageable climbs and some longer descents on rocky but fairly grippy ground. Wide paths that become increasingly flatter and more comfortable from the last third. We definitely recommend hiking poles for this tour.

Characteristics: This beautiful circular hike begins on the river bank opposite the market hall of Silves and takes us through the beautiful town into the lovely hilly landscape north of the city. We climb up to the medieval windmill, which serves as a high topographical control point and offers wonderful panoramic views. A small road leads us to the Via Algarviana, which takes us back down the mountain in large twists and turns until we reach a comfortable path back to Silves.

Refreshment options: There are no refreshment options along the way. At the end of the hike, you can eat chicken together in the "Valdemar" restaurant. Since a reservation for the chicken dinner is required, we ask that you register by Wednesday evening, April 2nd.

Requirements: At around 8:32 a.m., the lowest tide is 0.75 m, so we should still be able to navigate the picturesque rocky landscape easily at 10 a.m. Praia da Rocha is wide enough anyway and no problem. After that, the climb to the town continues on a flat surface. Since it's not yet the season, the place feels very tranquil and lacks the hustle and bustle of the summer months. 

Characteristics: A very easy but beautiful beach and cliff hike. We walk past the impressive, cliff-lined beaches of Careanos, Três Castelos, and Rocha to the Farolim da Praia da Rocha lighthouse. From there, we continue through the town and along the shore road and paths with wonderful viewpoints back to the starting point. 

Refreshment options: Stop at the restaurant "Cloque ao Mar," a beautiful clifftop location. Choose your own menu.

Characteristics: Located in the hinterland of Odiaxere, this tour is particularly surprising due to the six pretty lakes of different sizes that you walk past. The landscape is slightly hilly and lovely and offers beautiful views time and again.

Refreshment options: At the end of the tour, lunch is planned in the "Rota Vicentina" restaurant. The daily specials will not be decided until Monday next week. We will announce the options on Monday and ask you to decide by Monday evening.

Characteristics: Very attractive hike from Ferragudo along the coast to the Grutas Ponto do Altar. We first hike across the beach behind Ferragudo and then climb a staircase up to the coastal path, from where you can enjoy wonderful views of Portimao, various sandy bays and the sea. If you're lucky, you can see dolphins swimming past the lighthouse. At the grottos we turn around and take the same route back to Ferragudo, where we can eat a good meal in a restaurant. 

Requirements: On the beach over loose sand, then on slightly rocky and narrower paths along the coast. At the lighthouse the path becomes wider again. Hiking poles are an advantage, surefootedness is necessary. 

Suggested places to stop: At the end of the hike we have planned a lunch with a 3-course menu for those who would like it at a price of 21 euros per person. As we have to make a reservation at the restaurant, we ask that you register by Tuesday, January 14th at the latest. We also ask that you tell us the menu you would like when you register. This will speed things up in the restaurant.

Very attractive hike from the beautifully landscaped picnic area "Sitio das Fontes" along the Arade River to Silves through vineyards, past the ARVAD winery, always with a view of the green hills, various properties on the water, the river and finally the city. In Silves, you cross the medieval bridge to the other side of the river to the restaurants on the bank. 

Suggested places to stop: In Silves for a grilled chicken meal together.

The chicken meal must be reserved, so we need binding registrations for it by Wednesday, January 1st.

Characteristics: The paths over the dams are initially flat and comfortable, then there is a harmless climb of a few meters with rope support, then the path continues at the same height on a path to Alvor. The path offers beautiful views of the Alvor lagoon and the surrounding landscape. Coffee break on the promenade in Alvor and a small loop back to Figuera.
