The XC season starts August 9th.

HOME SCHOOL TRACK AND CROSS COUNTRY

GR Chariots of Fire is a local Grand Rapids chapter of Chariots of Fire Running Club

GR Chariots of Fire is providing unique opportunities for youth ages 7 - 18:

Whether you’re in school or home-schooled and you enjoy being active, having fun with others, or developing your gift of running, we have a program for you.

Our spring and fall program is open to all homeschool, private school, charter school, etc. 6-12 grade students needing a team to run with.

Sparks Team - we are now offering a development team for grades 1-5. Coach Stephanie will keep your kids active and learning the fundamentals of running at the same time and same place as the older kids.

Our indoor season is open to youth 7-18 who want a place to further develop their gift of running.

Outdoor Track and Field

Outdoor track season is the second week of March - the end of May and is open to home-school students and students whose school does not offer a track program. The outdoor track season is for middle and high school athletes. Middle school is grades 6-8; high school is grades 9-12.

We meet for practice at 4:30 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays in East Grand Rapids at Manhattan Park

The outdoor track program offers the opportunity for runners to develop their gift of running by competing along side of other local area schools.

Sparks Team - we are now offering a development team for grades 1-5. Coach Stephanie will keep your kids active and learning the fundamentals of running at the same time and same place as the older kids.

Events include: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 3200m, relays, hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus.

Cross Country

The Cross Country season is August - October and is open to home-school students and students whose school does not offer a cross country program. The cross country season is primarily for grades 6-12. There is a development group for grades K-5 as well.

The cross country program offers the opportunity for runners to develop their gift of running by competing along side of other local area schools.

The program presents an opportunity to compete at a national level for qualified individuals.

Indoor Track

Indoor track is a great way for kids to stay in shape and further develop their gift of running. Runners have a great opportunity to compete in the Michigan Indoor Track Series M.I.T.S.

Costs

New members are $125 (this includes your uniform)

Returning members are $75 + additional race fees

Sparks development team are $25
