CHRG Network started in 2017 as a charging station management platform, built before ChargingShop.eu existed as a storefront at all. That order matters. The software came first, which is part of why every piece of hardware sold on this site gets evaluated for genuine OCPP compatibility before it's added to the catalog, rather than software being bolted on afterward to justify a sales pitch.
ChargingShop.eu itself launched in 2019 as the commercial side of that same operation, supplying installers and businesses across the EEA with hardware from ABB, V2C, and Alfen at B2B pricing. The company now runs dedicated storefronts in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway alongside the main Lithuania operation, all backed by the same Vilnius warehouse and the same CHRG Network software layer.
OCPP, the protocol CHRG Network runs on, is maintained by the Open Charge Alliance, an independent industry body rather than any single manufacturer. That's part of why it works across brands instead of locking a site into one closed ecosystem.
