Philosophy & Art
“Starry Night Over the Rhône ,” an 1888 painting by Vincent van Gogh
Philosophy
I have been fascinated by the beauty of philosophy since my undergraduate study. On the one hand, it helps me resolve various confusions about the life ; on the other hand, it makes me better understand the world and society around me.
Wang Yangming, my favorite philosopher.
One of his philosophical ideas is the "unitary of knowledge and action", which is similar to the spirit of MIT's motto, "Mind and Hand". Moreover, He is also a great military general.
The above is one of my favorite quotes by the great philosopher Immanuel Kant. It inspires me to be a man with both great thinking and a great mind.
Art
To me, Art is the express of people's intrinsic emotion and attitudes towards both the natural world and human society around them. I am always interested in exploring nature and improving my ability to sense beauty. Below are some of my favorite paintings by Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet.
