Adapted by local playwright Heidi Kraay, and directed by Veronica Von Tobel, Ark is based on the “infectiously optimistic” middle-grade novel by Elisabeth Sharp McKetta.
Eleven-year-old Arden thinks the world has ended when her parents decide to trade their large house (where she has her own purple bedroom with a window seat!) for a small backyard guesthouse, built like a wooden boat. The worst part: it’s not big enough for their dog to come along. Things get even worse when her best friend moves away and a pandemic shuts school, leaving her family quarantined in very little space. As neighbors leave town, shut themselves away, and get sick, their pets are left behind, and Arden becomes the safe-keeper of the abandoned animals. When the pandemic touches home, Arden must use all her creativity and courage to help those she loves―family, friends, and dogs!
Ark was inspired by the author Elisabeth Sharp McKetta’s experience of living in a 275-square-foot tiny house with her husband and two children during the COVID-19 pandemic. Like Arden, Elisabeth’s family learned to live large in a small space.
Starring: Dakotah Brown, Rachel Finch, Nova Calverley-Chase, Ben Kemper, JZ Marrero, Spencer Kohler and directed by Veronica Von Tobel

In this hilarious one-act, join us for the first rehearsal of the classic play Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? where we are introduced to the quirky actors and director who will be putting on a new interpretation of the classic. Written by local playwright (and Rediscovered Books employee), Kevin Labrum, this fun and fast look into the process of getting to know your castmates, the director's vision, and the play while keeping your sanity will have you laughing and doubting the sanity of every theater person you've ever met.
Malcolm Greene is a veteran theater actor who has taken a dream role as "George" in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? after another actor has dropped out. On the first day of rehearsal, he is reunited with his friend and protege, Beth Talley, and introduced to the rest of the cast and director. As the afternoon progresses, he is forced to participate in wilder and wilder character exercises that make him question how much he wants this role. This is a fun look behind the curtain of theater and how crazy and fun it can be.
Starring: Sheila Ann, Adrian Leon, Kevin Labrum, Ben Hamill, and Nova Calverley-Chase and directed by Kim Sherman-Labrum
