The main railway station, Trieste Centrale, is centrally located and within walking distance of many hotels.
There are direct trains from Venice, Milan, Rome, and other Italian major cities.

The Trieste bus station is centrally located, near the main railway station.
The IFPU building is located within the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) campus in Grignano, approximately 7 km from Trieste city center.
From Trieste Centrale railway station, you can reach both the Adriatico Guesthouse and the institute via bus Line 6 (direction Grignano):

Bus tickets can be purchased at newsstands or tobacco shops ("Tabacchi") and should be validated on board. It is not possible to buy the ticket from the driver. Alternatively, digital tickets can be purchased via the local transportation phone app TPL FVG.
The taxi fare from Trieste Centrale railway station to the ICTP campus is approximately €20. While taxis are generally available and convenient, travelers are advised to confirm the fare in advance or ensure the meter is running, as overcharging of tourists is not uncommon in Italy.
