Undergraduate Research

The importance of undergraduate research cannot be emphasized enough as undergraduate students play a vital role in creating the culture of active undergraduate research involvement, through which they gain experience on various numerical and experimental methods in the field of high voltage and dielectrics. Each semester, I usually hire one or two undergrads to let them work on experiments. The students earn research credit hours and are asked to participate in the Undergraduate Research Symposium organized by the Office of Undergraduate Research at Mississippi State University. If the results are publishable, I encourage them to prepare conference abstracts and contribute to writing peer-reviewed conference or journal papers.
