Who we are....

Based around the Preston area, Chantras is an eclectic group of musicians bringing pagan chants to life through exciting rhythms and strong bass lines.

Together with lighting and visual effects and stage presence atmospherics we bring a deep joy to bringing the pagan chants to life.

The name Chantras is a blending of Chants and Mantras - which reveals something of the presence we call forth. The chants soon become familiar to the listener to be able to join in, meanwhile the music is foot tapping, lose-yourself meditative, mystery, dance, evoking.

Chantras celebrates the joy of being pagan, and being part of the whole. Uplifting and positive!

Air I am, Fire I am, Water, Spirit and Earth I am!

Within the Rhythm, In between.

Rhythm and Wrote, Wondering and Note.

The Beat of heart, the reaching thought.

Round and Round, Sound with Sound.

Among the stars, and laying under--ground.

Your Harmonies --Abound.

Both Chants, And Mantras

Welcome! To Chantras!

Our beginnings...

The project was inspired by a visit one day from the band founder to The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle, Cornwall, and the purchase of a cd playing voice-only chants. Hearing bass lines and drums in the spaces, the CHANTRAS was conceived and likeminded individuals sourced over a period of about 6 months.
