Hi there! I’m ChanJoo [Judy] Jung,
I am currently an M.S. student in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Yonsei University, where I am advised by Prof. Jaehyung Kim in the Machine and Language Learning Lab (ML3). Currently, I also work closely with Fangzhao Wu and Xing Xie at Microsoft. I received my B.S. in Computer Science and B.A. in Economics from Yonsei University.
Curriculum Vitae: Click Here [last update: July 2026]
My current research interests center on developing reliable and efficient large language models (LLMs). In particular, I am interested in building models that are safe, trustworthy, responsible, and well aligned with human values. Additionally, I am interested in improving their computational efficiency by achieving stronger performance with fewer tokens, less computation, and smaller models. More broadly, I am especially inspired by the remarkable efficiency of the human brain, which performs complex reasoning with far less energy, suggesting that more efficient forms of intelligence are possible.
My broader research interests also include, but are not limited to:
Generalization and transfer learning
Multimodal learning and real-world NLP applications
Natural language generation
Personalization and domain adaptation
Reinforcement learning
