Privacy Policy for Change Tracker
Effective date: 2025-09-23
Change Tracker (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Change Tracker mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Change Tracker, we may collect the following types of information:
Account Information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address and basic profile information (such as name and profile picture).
App Usage Information: We may collect information about how you use the App, including features used and interactions.
Device Information: Such as device type, operating system, identifiers, crash logs, and performance data.
Advertising Data: Through Google AdMob, we and our partners may collect information such as your advertising ID, location (if enabled), and interaction with ads.
Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed securely by Google Play. We do not store your full payment details.
Photos & Media Access: When you choose to upload images to your profile folders or card slots, the app will request access to your device photos. Images are accessed only when you intentionally select them using the in-app image picker (react-native-image-crop-picker). Selected images are uploaded to your connected Google Drive account. The app stores only the file URLs and minimal metadata needed to display them in Firebase. Please note: uploaded images are publicly accessible via their Google Drive URL — anyone who knows the URL can view the image. The app does not scan or access your media library in the background and does not share your images with third parties without your consent.
Google Drive Access and Uploaded Images: When you sign in with Google and grant Drive permissions, Change Tracker requests access to your Google Drive using the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope (and requests offline access so the app can refresh access tokens when needed). We use this access only to create a per-user folder in your Google Drive and to upload images you explicitly select in the app. Before any Drive access occurs, Google will present a consent screen describing the permissions you are granting. When a new per-user folder is created we set the folder’s sharing permission so that anyone with the folder or file link can view the files. This means that uploaded images are accessible to anyone who has the URL. If you do not want uploaded images to be publicly accessible, do not grant Drive access or remove the files from Google Drive. We do not scan your Google Drive or access files you haven't explicitly selected for upload. We store only the Drive file URLs and minimal metadata necessary to display images in the app (and may store the Drive file ID to enable deletion). Access tokens are used by the app to call the Google Drive API; we do not share your Google credentials with third parties. If you delete your Change Tracker account, we will attempt to permanently delete the files uploaded by the app from your Google Drive. If you revoke Change Tracker’s access to your Google Account from your Google Account settings, the app will no longer be able to access or delete files in Drive. If you have questions or if files remain after account deletion, contact us at changetracker2025@gmail.com. For more information about Google’s own privacy practices and how to manage app permissions, see your Google Account Permissions page and Google’s Privacy Policy.
User-Managed Google Drive Content: Images uploaded through Change Tracker are stored in your personal Google Drive account. You remain fully in control of these files through Google Drive. If you manually delete, move, or modify any uploaded image or folder in Google Drive, the corresponding image will no longer be available in the App. Change Tracker cannot restore files that you delete from Google Drive. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from user actions taken directly within Google Drive.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
Provide and operate the App.
Enable login and account management.
Display ads (personalized or non-personalized, depending on your consent).
Offer subscription options that remove ads.
Improve performance and fix issues.

We use the following third-party services in the App:
Google AdMob (ads and advertising identifiers).
Firebase (authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and backend).
Google Play Billing (subscriptions and in-app purchases).
These services may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies:
4. User Consent and Choices
When using the App in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you will be asked to provide consent for personalized advertising through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP).
You may choose personalized ads, non-personalized ads, or no ads (in which case a subscription is required to continue).
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time in the App’s settings (Privacy & Ads section).
If you have purchased a subscription, ads are not displayed.
We retain your account information for as long as you maintain an account with us. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
Change Tracker is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
