I was attempting to edit the gradient of the images. I've already done it successfully with another image I copy & pasted. My question is, is there a way to change an image from "background" to "image"? I've tried copying & pasting the same image in the same file and it didn't work. I want to be able to edit the gradient of the image without the entire page being edited with gradient.

There are three advantages with this approach: First, you can change the color gradient at any time by just editing the fill of the rectangle. Second, it's the most flexible option because blend modes allow you to really fine-tune how the gradient is applied to your image. Third, it doesn't make any difference at all if the underlying layer is an Image Layer or a Pixel Layer - the result will be the same.

I'm making a video on iMovie. It is a compilation of photos with some background music and I've also added some titles. Some of the photos are vertical, and it automatically adds a black background to fill the sides. Is there a way I can change that? I want to have a dark grey background instead of black. I've seen videos where you can change the background for vertical videos, but that doesn't seem to work with photos. Any fixes?

Hey Chick,

Are you interested in doing this by time? For example if you have 6 images you can use seconds to declare a background image change every 10 seconds. You can do that with transparency settings by loading all six images. For example:

And when I look up how to change the text color across all slides (for input box text) the only result I get is something regarding running a macro, and all it says is text (i.e. words) not colors. I do not need to modify the text input, just the color displayed. Sometimes I use black text on light backgrounds, sometimes white text on black backgrounds.

Thank you for your help. Sorry if I sound ungrateful. It is a good program, when I only want to make a one-time use impress presentation. But I noticed once I wanted to re-use old portions for newer presentations I had to recreate it entirely and that seem slow, or at least go slide by slide modifying the background and text color. Which is just a chore. Surely there is a better way?

Partially found my answer for changing the background. Open Master View by selecting from the right hand panel. Then the left hand panel where the regular slides are shown will decrease in number to one slide. This is the master slide. Right click it and select rename. Once renamed you can modify things from the right hand panel. Selecting the background and modifying it will change it for the other panels automatically. If not done automatically select apply to all slides.

Encountered something funny when first trying it out where I first had to apply one of the template master slides before the modified master slide I wanted to use would apply. Cannot get text color to change with the master slide however. Weird.

When viewing an image in Windows 7's Photo Viewer, it would have a coloured background that made it clear where the image started and ended. By comparison, in Windows 10, the background is always white when viewing an image with Windows Photos. As someone who works with a lot of images with white backgrounds, and often relies on the image viewer a lot to make important design decisions, this is very problematic.

Is there any way to change Photos' default background colour from white to something else? Note that I'm not simply asking to bring back Photo Viewer, which I know can be done, but it feels hacky and unstable to force legacy software to run on a modern OS, and it seems that it would be less trouble to just change Photos' background colour.

I have gone through the same issue for hero section.

I got the work-around. Just add a collection for background and add collection list, so that client can anytime replace the image in collection from Editor mode.

I have a background image at the top of my website (www.onehandsanitizer.com). It has my logo and the company slogan. It looks great on desktop but on mobile, most of the image gets cut off. I want the image to shrink to fit in the screen on mobile instead of cutting the sides off.

I tried a few things in custom CSS. I was able to get the image to shrink by setting height: 50%; but that didn't shrink the parent container, leaving me with a bunch of white space where the picture used to be. I also tried finding the #yui_... ID for this section but couldn't find it. Not sure if that is cause this section only consists of a background image or not?

Is there a way for me to shrink the image on mobile without having a bunch of whitespace underneath it? And if not, how would I go about having one background image on desktop and replacing it with another on mobile? A solution to either question would solve my problem. Thank you very much for any help!

Hi @tuanphan, I tried applying this code for my other pages but it didnt work.

I want to shrink my header background image to fit the intercept banner just like how it looks like on desktop. Apart from the home page, i need to apply this to the rest of the pages

Can you help to take a look at my site? Thanks!

Hi @tuanphan... I have the exact same question as AndrewTFS. I've used the following code on my store page and it works perfectly... the background image at the top is sized exactly as needed on mobile. However, the footer and any other section section then seems to be moved up and is jumbled in with the store/products section. I used the same code on other pages and am not having this problem, so I believe it may be an issue related to the store function. Any advice on how to fix? I can send my website url if needed. Thank you!!

Definitely moving in the right direction! My first goal was to have the background image in the header fit properly on mobile, which this CSS accomplishes. Do you know how I could modify it so that the rest of the page works properly? e24fc04721
