Relativistic Quantum Information
The fusion of the fields of the theory of relativity and quantum information gave rise to the new research area of Relativistic quantum information theory. Relativistic motion of quantum systems gives rise to the Unruh effect, a novel phenomenon not found in inertial systems. This effect causes a decoherence on quantum systems known as Unruh decoherence. Hence quantum correlations like Entanglement, Discord and Coherence become observer-dependent properties which gets degraded from the perspective of an accelerated observer. The study of relativistic quantum information has applications in fundamental topics like quantum gravity and also in satellite-based quantum communication. Through our work we investigate the Unruh decoherence on the different quantum correlations in a multipartite system and look at possible physical implications.
Distributed Quantum Computing
The propensity to gather and share information and digital assets led to the development of classical internet. The internet has become a part and parcel of our life and has made changes in our way of life which can never be undone. The current format of internet shares and unites remote digital assets, which has made sharing of information and computation more efficient. The next wave of technology is going to be based on the rules of quantum physics. Quantum technology has already started producing devices faster and more efficient than existing classical technology devices. Now there is a real possibility of networking quantum assets which will lead to the development of a global quantum internet. We assume this might bring in as much social, economic and political changes as the transistor did in the twentieth century. The development of quantum internet requires the development of quantum network analysis for transformation of information, quantum memories for storing information, development of quantum transmission protocol and quantum information routing strategies. In our book we analyze these concepts in detail and in future works we endeavor to address some open questions in this direction.
