Exciting opportunities for PhD at GMGG, IIT Kharagpur
I was born and brought up in a village (Pipara Bhan Mati) near the small town of Salempur located in the district of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, India. I did my high school in 2001 at Lala Karam Chandra Thapar Inter College, Baitalpur, Deoria, and intermediate in science in 2003 from Maharaja Agrasen Inter College, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. Later, I moved to Gorakhpur city to join Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate College affiliated with Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University to get my graduate degree B.Sc. (Physics and Mathematics) in 2006. Further, I joined Lucknow University in 2008 for my postgraduation degree M.Sc. (Physics) from the Department of Physics, and the University of Hyderabad in 2010 for my second technical master's degree M.Tech. (Mineral Exploration/Geophysics) with the most prestigious BALDOTA fellowship from University Centre for Earth and Space Science (now CEOAS-The Centre for Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences). Finally, I joined the renowned research lab CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad, India, as a CSIR-SRF and Christian Albrechts Universitat Kiel, Germany as DAAD Fellow for my Ph.D. degree in Geophysics awarded from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, India in 2015.
Soon after the award of my PhD, I joined as a Scientist in 2016 untill 2024 at National Centre for Earth Science Studies under the Ministry of Earth Science, Government of India to lead several projects based on geopotential field theory to understand the Indian plate evolution and associated geodynamic processes.
Later, I joined Department of Geology and Geophysics, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur as an Assistant Professor since April 2024 to initiate a new era of Gravity, Magnetic, and Gradiometry in Geosciences (GMGG).
