“Wushu” literally translates to "martial arts."
Today the term "wushu" is used to describe a modern, internationally standardized version of kung fu that emphasizes strength, agility, athleticism, mental discipline and expression based on martial origins. Wushu is an excellent way to condition your body and mind while also immersively learning about an important part of Chinese culture.
A Healthy Body
Even the most basic wushu stances, kicks, and forms can improve strength, cardio endurance, agility and flexibility. More advanced wushu incorporates acrobatics which help develop muscle strength, control and coordination. A wushu athlete is physically primed for almost any other sport.
A Strong Mind
Coach Ding instills a philosophy of learning that students can apply to other aspects of their lives. Strong work ethic, mental focus, determination and belief in one's self are values encouraged and emphasized in training.

Competitions
Competing and performing in front of large audiences is an excellent way for students to learn how to prepare physically and emotionally for success. Competitive training can help build self confidence, strong work ethic, and team building. Coach Ding has trained students who made the U.S. National wushu team.
