Originating from the Sichuan Province Professional Wushu Team, Ding Wei has extensive competitive and coaching experience. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Wushu and Professional Coaching from Chengdu Sports University, Coach Ding is proficient in broadsword, staff, southern fist, southern saber, southern staff, 9-section whip chain, eagle fist, mantis boxing, taichiquan, and many other traditional styles. His specializations include straightsword, spear, tongbeiquan, drunken sword, monkey staff, and choreographed fight sets.
Coach Ding has competed in 3 All China Games (1993, 1997, and 2001) among many other notable competitions. Since he began teaching wushu in the US, he has coached 2 students to the US National Wushu Team in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013.
