Chamberlain / Gonzalez Bio:
Eliot Chamberlain & Soliana Gonzalez have been writing songs, harmonizing & performing together in Portland since March 2020. They could be described as a folk duo - though their music draws from a wide array of traditions & inspirations. Soli grew up climbing trees in N.Y. state, singing with her sisters, making art & falling in love with early folk, rock & latin music of her Colombian heritage. Meanwhile, Eliot is your classic West Coast bluegrass banjo player turned psychedelic rock guitarist & songwriter, moving from Santa Cruz to Portland in 2013. Considering their distinct backgrounds, geographical origins & styles, it’s almost uncanny how well their music coalesces.
Their second album, “Gonzolain”, out on 6/21/24, was recorded mostly live in their basement & in Blue Room studios with the brilliant & beloved guidance of Mike Coykendall. For this second album, as for their first, their aim is to make music that's somehow honest and responsive to our current time.
Performance Description: Chamberlain / Gonzalez features original songs, vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar and fingerpicking; they draw inspiration from many genres including: early English folk, American roots, jazz, Latin, protest, 60/70s, world music, etc. C/G has had the pleasure of working with and opening for Haley Heynderickx, and Mike Coykendall.
Reviews: Nickolas Heynderickx "...This album is wonderful. Skim 1st ten seconds of each track, huge variety and depth. The music could fuel a long road trip, be a delightful background at your desk, coffee shop or as a soundtrack on TV/Movies. Easy to imagine Soli and Eliot center stage at any music festival..."
