Challengers is an upcoming American romantic sports comedy drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes. The film stars Zendaya, Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist. Its plot follows a Grand Slam tennis champion who signs up to compete in a challenger event against the former lover of his wife and coach.
The Challengers trailer introduces Zendaya as the star tennis player Tashi Duncan who gets caught up in a steamy love triangle with fellow tennis players Art Donaldson (Faist) and Patrick Zweig (O'Connor). Years later, Tashi is married to Art and after suffering a serious injury becomes his coach. To spice things up, Tashi convinces Art to compete in a challenger event against Patrick, reigniting their rivalry and romance years later.
