Devanshu Studios ("we," "us," or "our") built the Chakuli app as an on-device AI application. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("Chakuli" or the "App").
By using Chakuli, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Chakuli is built with a strict "local-first" architecture. All Artificial Intelligence (AI) processing occurs entirely on your device.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your chat logs, prompts, or AI-generated responses to our servers.
Your conversations remain strictly on your local hardware.
While your AI data remains local, the App may collect the following information, subject to your explicit consent:
If you explicitly opt-in during the App's first launch, we use Google Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics to collect anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. This data is used solely to identify bugs and improve app stability.
Data collected: Device model, operating system version, crash traces, and general app interaction events.
Anonymization & Deletion: All telemetry data collected via Firebase is completely anonymized and aggregated. Because it is not tied to any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), it is technically impossible to isolate or delete a specific user's historical telemetry data.
Opting Out: You can opt-out of all future data collection at any time via the App's Settings menu.
If you choose to use our "Tip Jar" or purchase premium features, transactions are securely processed by RevenueCat and your respective app store (Google Play).
We do not collect or store your credit card information.
RevenueCat assigns an anonymous user ID to track your purchase entitlement status.
To comply with regional laws (such as Texas SB 2420), we use the Google Play Age Signals API. We receive an anonymous "age band" (e.g., 13-15, 18+) or supervision status directly from Google Play to ensure feature appropriateness. We do not collect your exact date of birth.
To function properly, the App requests specific device permissions:
Internet Access: Required only to download AI models you explicitly request from third-party hosts (like Hugging Face), securely process in-app purchases, or send anonymous crash logs (if opted-in).
Storage Access: Required to save the downloaded AI models directly to your local hardware. We do not read, scan, or access personal files outside of the App's designated model directories.
We are fully committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with international frameworks, including but not limited to:
India (DPDP Act, 2023): We adhere to data minimization. Your data is not processed without explicit consent.
European Union (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, and erase your data. Because your chat data never leaves your device, you maintain full control over its deletion by simply uninstalling the app or clearing its data.
Brazil (LGPD) & South Korea (PIPA): We rely on your explicit consent for any telemetry data collection.
The App may contain links to or integrate with third-party services. Please review their respective privacy policies:
Hugging Face (Only applicable if you log in to download gated models).
Because Chakuli is a local-first application and does not require user accounts, we do not store personal profiles or chat histories on our servers.
Local Chat Data: You can permanently delete all chat data and downloaded models at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings or uninstalling the App.
Telemetry Data: Crashlytics data is entirely anonymized and cannot be traced back to you. It is automatically deleted within 90 days.
In-App Purchase Data: If you used the Tip Jar, Google Play and RevenueCat retain an anonymous purchase record for legal and tax compliance. If you wish to request the deletion of this purchase record, please email a data deletion request to bhanunagpure453@gmail.com. Because our records are completely anonymous, you must include your Google Play Order ID (found on your emailed Google Play receipt, starting with "GPA.") in your email so we can locate and delete your specific anonymous record.
Chakuli does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or higher, depending on local laws). If you are a supervised minor, certain app features may be restricted based on Google Play's Age Signals.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
