I am the Director of Data Science - People Analytics at Stanley Black & Decker. My current professional research at SBD is focused on the field of Human Capital and People Analytics. People Analytics explores data-driven techniques for managing people, and for making more strategic, systematic decisions that affect the organization as a whole. People Analytics is increasingly applied across global organizations to solve a wide range of business challenges. Some of the world’s most successful companies are using people analytics to improve hiring and promotion, performance evaluation, job design, compensation, and collaboration. By gaining greater insights into the workforce, leaders are able to help them engage more positively and productively and reduce risks.
I hold a Ph.D. from Columbia University in Cognitive Science where I researched applications of machine learning methods to model human cognitive behavior for risk prediction under the advisement of Dr. Ryan Baker, founder of the Penn Center for Learning Analytics at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to completing my doctorate, I had achieved a Masters of Science in Learning Analytics from Teachers College -Columbia University, a Masters of Arts in Administration, Leadership, and Technology (with a focus in Digital Media Design for Learning) from New York University and a Bachelors of Science in Social Sciences from Florida State University.
