We are a couple of animal lovers from Japan who came in 2024.
We have lived with cats since we were young and are obsessed with their charm. All Cha-rt works are made of wool. We decided to take on the challenge in beautiful New Zealand, where there are many sheep and animal lovers.
I'm Ayame and I'm in charge of all production and design,
and Yuu is in charge of website management and customer support.
I have loved making things since I was a child, and after graduating from art university, I worked as a freelance commercial artist in Japan for about 10 years. However, I had doubts about the impact of FRP and urethane paint on the environment and the dangers to the human body.
After marrying Yuu in 2022, My beloved cat "Chaoz" suddenly passed away, leaving a big hole in my heart.
I named our brand "Cha-rt" and started an art studio so that I could continue to make the things I love forever with My beloved cat Chaoz.
It is a coined word combining "Cha" and "art", and in Japanese it means "Together with Cha".
I promise to create products that will please animal lovers in New Zealand with the delicate techniques of Japanese craftsmen and manufacturing that is kind to the earth and animals.
