Parent Newsletter Date 11.09.26
What an incredibly proud two days we have had at Church Hill! It has been a wonderful opportunity to showcase all the fabulous things that make our school such a special place to learn, work and grow. We were particularly proud of our children, who spoke with such confidence, enthusiasm and maturity about their learning and about what it is like to be a pupil at Church Hill. A huge thank you also goes to every member of our staff for the incredible amount of hard work, dedication and commitment that went into preparing for and supporting the inspection – we are so grateful to you all.
Finally, we would like to thank all of our parents and carers for your continued support. Some of you kindly completed the Ofsted survey, while others took the opportunity to speak directly with the inspectors, who told us how much they enjoyed those conversations. We are expecting to receive the final inspection report during the second or third week of October, and as soon as we receive it, we will share it with all our families and publish it on our school website.
Thank you everyone.

As we shared with you in the last newsletter, inclusion is removing all barriers to allow all children to have access to the same opportunities and experiences.
These barriers could include attendance, SEND, medical needs, EAL, change in family dynamics or even sleep – the list is endless!
If you wish to make contact with the Assistant Head for Inclusion / SENDCo please email the school office.
Remember though, the expert about your child on a daily basis is the class teacher, they are always a great first port of call!
Healthy Sleep
Did you know that looking at a screen an hour before sleep impacts the health of your sleep!
In children it is believed that they receive 55% less melatonin (sleep chemical) through blue light exposure before sleep.
For children with autism and ADHD it is believed this impact is even greater.
How much sleep is enough?
Children aged 3-9 = 10 to11 hours a night
Children aged 10-16 = 9 hours a night

Just One Tree Day
We’re delighted to be taking part in Just One Tree Day for the fourth year running!
Thanks to everyone’s support over the past three years, we have already helped to plant an incredible 692 trees. Our entire school’s forest will now remove approximately 213.14 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere over the next 25 years! What an amazing impact we are making together.
On Friday 16th October, we’re asking everyone to wear green for £1.
Every £1 donated will represent one tree being planted, helping to restore forests, support communities and make a positive difference to our planet.
So, dig out your favourite green outfit, bring in your £1 and join us in growing our tree total!
Let’s see how many more trees we can plant together! 🌳💚
This week’s Chatter Matters: “My First Week Back!”
Sit down together and chat about your child’s first full week back at school. Take turns sharing your thoughts and ideas.
Ask your child:
What has been your favourite part of the week?
What is something new you have learned?
What made you smile?
Was there anything that you found tricky?
What are you looking forward to next week?
Remember - there doesn’t need to be a right answer. The aim is to talk, listen, ask questions and share ideas.
Interventions
Early Morning Interventions will start from Monday 14th September at 8:30am.
If your child has been invited in for Early Morning Interventions, they must arrive promptly at 8:30am. In order to minimise disruption and maximise the effectiveness of these sessions, children arriving after 8:35am will not be 'buzzed' into school. Instead they will be asked to wait at the gate and enter at the usual time of 8:50am.
Thank you for your support.
