Submission Requirements:
Video presentation: In three minutes or less, present your design idea. An example of this would be a voice recording over a presentation slide deck. All of your team members should get a chance to speak. Some things to include would be your design ideation, sketches, cad models, renders, simulation testing, materials, etc.
PDF: This is for the judges to reference outside of your video presentation. In your PDF you can include more views of your cad model, renders with callouts, etc. Make sure to include a title slide with the names of everyone on your team and school.
Judging Criteria
Aesthetics — artistic value of the form, shape, color, texture, finishing, engineering, material used, etc.
§Collaboration – how well team collaborated in the project and how team collaborate with stakeholders
§Functionality and Utility — ease of use, safety, maintenance; Design meets the intended purpose and needs of the user
§Innovation — does the design stand out, provide something new to the market or supplement/improve an existing product or service?
§Presentation and Communication – how well the design is presented and communicated out to the audience
§Reality of production — how realistic is it, technically and economically, to bring this design to production and broad-scale use
§Adjustability — including adjustability in mounting point locations is a bonus, but not a requirement
When is it due?
The deadline is Tuesday, December 8th by 11:59pm PST. The judges will be reviewing your projects December 9th - 13th. The results will be announced December 15th.
Where will I submit it?
Submit the files to your professors in designated LMS of your school.
