Professional and Educational Careers

Since March 2005, he has served as a Professor of Computer Science at Sookmyung Women’s University. He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Yonsei University. His early teaching experience includes various undergraduate courses at Yonsei and Ewha Womans University (1996–2000). He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Ottawa, Canada (2001–2002), specializing in Distributed Virtual Environments. Prior to his current appointment, he was a full-time lecturer at Hanbat National University starting in 2003. In 2011, he spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of Colorado Denver. While his foundational research lies in recommender systems and collaborative filtering, his recent work focuses on data mining, visualization, and generative AI evaluation.
