I am Gizem Korpeoglu. Welcome to my website.
I am an Associate Professor of Operations Management. My research provides policy and managerial insights for practitioners about AI, digital platforms, supply chains, social enterprises, and agriculture. I use game theory and behavioral experiments in my research. My research contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): zero hunger, food security, improved nutrition (SDG 2), industry, innovation, and infrastructure (SDG 9), and responsible consumption and production (SDG 12). My papers have appeared in leading operations journals, Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management. My research has been recognized with various awards. One of my papers received the winner award in the INFORMS Technology, Innovation Management, and Entrepreneurship Section (TIMES) Best Working Paper Competition in 2020, and another one received the runner-up award in the same competition in 2018. One of my experimental papers received the third prize in the POMS College of Behavior in OM Junior Scholar Paper Competition in 2024. My other experimental paper became a finalist in the POMS College of Product Innovation and Technology Management (PITM) Best Student Paper Competition in 2025. I received the Irene Curie Grant (€100,000) and three research excellence awards from Eindhoven University of Technology.
I served as a member of the INFORMS TIMES Board from 2020 to 2025. In 2023, I was honored to lead the TIMES community as the President of the INFORMS TIMES Board, which recognized my service with the Distinguished Service Award in 2024.
At the beginning of my career, I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at UCL School of Management. Then, I worked as an assistant professor at Bilkent University and Eindhoven University of Technology. I received my PhD and MS from Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. I received my BS from Middle East Technical University.
I spend my days doing the activities I enjoy the most: research, education, supervision, and academic service. Every day, I learn from my students and colleagues.
