Performance Attire For Beginning Treble Choir
Although we absolutely hope your students will continue in the choir program to one of our upper choirs listed above, we recognize that isn't always the case. In the interest of keeping parents from buying dresses/tuxes for potentially only one year, our Beginning Treble Chorus Performs in Concert Black attire. This is meant to be inherently flexible while still providing visual uniformity for our group. Additionally the hope is that any of this attire you purchase you'll also be able to use for any other number of purposes whereas a choir dress or tux isn't quite as universally functional. That being said below are guidelines for what Concert Black Attire can look like and some things that must be included. If you have questions or concerns about what is acceptable please don't hesitate to reach out to me at chris.barbee@gcpsk12.org. You can just send a photograph of the attire to me and I'll be happy to confirm or clarify or if you'd like your child can bring it to school and I can see it there.
Concert Black Possibilities:
-Black blouse, polo, or button down. Please only black and without any additional colors. Patterns are acceptable but cannot be silver/gold/another bright color.
-Black dress pants, a black dress (must down to ankles), a black skirt and top (must reach down to ankles)
-Black dress shoes (please no tennis shoes), Black flats (please no heels, they are both very loud on stage/risers and a legitimate safety hazard)
-Hair should be out of face/eyes, or an updo. Any hair band or other accessory also needs to be black and not another bright color.
-No necklaces. Dangle earrings up to 1 ½ inches are allowed, but not required. No bracelets, please.
Again if you have any questions or concerns about these items or if you are unsure if something is acceptable please do reach out to me and I can clarify or we can discuss a solution. Thank you for your help and attention to this matter.
